‘There’s almost an altered state about their work that runs through over 11 years.’

– Fringe review

Tanglehead was formed in 2011 and their first production was the site-specific award-winning production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest which transferred from the Brighton Fringe to the Komedia to sell out audiences.

They are committed to making brave theatre, which is both inclusive and boundary-pushing, using the interplay between performer and audience to strengthen human interconnection and create transformative experiences.

Their work often explores trauma, themes of mental health and the psychological experience, interests lie in both collaboration and community, driven by a belief that society can only thrive when everyone is included.

Through this multi-dimensional approach, which blends live music, theatre, and film, they explore issues from multiple perspectives. Recent collaborations have seen them working with marginalised communities and adapting from real life, giving a voice to the voiceless, seeking to empower individuals and to normalise talking about mental health.
